Baseball: Marcus’ postseason perfection continues

GRAPEVINE — Three playoff series are complete and Marcus’ baseball team is yet to drop a game in the postseason.

The Marauders advanced to the Class 5A Region I Semifinals for the first time since 2010 Friday, pouring it on Grapevine late to pull away for a 7-0 victory to sweep the best-of-3 series.

Matthew Holcombe provided the final blow for the Marauders in a four-run seventh inning when he cleared the left-field fence with ease for a three-run homer.
