Lyall Paulson, age 84, of Lewisville, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in Denton.
He was born July 13, 1928 in Saskatchewan, Canada on a wheat farm to John Peter Paulson and Blanche Lynette Shults Paulson.Lyall held a dual citizenship because his parents were U.S. citizens residing in Canada. He became a U.S. Citizen May 31, 1956 while living in Opportunity, Washington.
Following his retirement Lyall raised ostriches, cows and horses. He loved working with wood, country western music, dancing and playing the fiddle or any instrument with strings. Lyall was a wonderful dancer and was a member of the Western Swing Music Society of the Southwest, the Carrollton Senior Dance Club and the Farmers Branch Senior Dance Club.
He married Donna on December 22, 2007 in Carrollton.
Lyall is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Sandra Lynn Hampton and husband, Robbie, Gerald Grant Paulson, Marvin Daryl Paulson and wife, Denise, Tina Marie Cline and husband, Darrell, Cynthia Lynn Harrison and spouse Michelle Marie Brookes, Jacqueline Leigh Franks and husband, Kevin, Rina Lynne Petersen and husband, Mark, Rhett Taylor Williams and wife, Melynda and Vangeline Starr and husband, Brett Speer; grandchildren Meghan Marie Ortowski and husband, Cody, Austin Ryan Franks, Clayton Riley Franks, Cody Lynn Brooks, Crisslynne Taylor Speer, Zyona Lynnae Williams and Shawn Barr and wife, Misty; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Trinton Brianna and Makenna.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Thomas Morgan and sister, Winnefred Craven.
A funeral service to celebrate Lyall's life will be held 4 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2012, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. The family will receive friends prior to the service.
