For Raj Sachdeva, owner of the newly opened Creative World Centennial childcare facility in Frisco, finding the right business to run was a difficult process. Once he and his wife started thinking about it, however, one route quickly became apparent: education and childcare.

"My wife and I wanted to start a business for a long time and we looked at different options," Sachdeva said. "Because we both have strong educational backgrounds, we thought this [childcare and education] would be a good area."

Once the couple settled on the childcare industry, they quickly found what they were looking for by becoming a Creative World franchisee.

"We looked at a whole bunch of franchises and almost didn't get into this business," he said. "Then we ran across Creative World and it had all the components we wanted, such as real education as opposed to an emphasis on marketing."

The facility, which opened last week, features programs for children ranging in age from newborns to school age (up to 12 years old).

One unique feature of the childcare facility is its Exploratorium, a room designed specifically to foster a specialized learning environment.

"The Exploratorium is a huge room in the center of the building," Sachdeva said. "Basically what it does is provide children with an interactive way of learning [for our preschool program]. This room helps develop a child's brain, as a child's first five years are among the most important in the development of the brain."

The Exploratorium features multiple stations -- such as cooking, music and drama -- that children can rotate through to get different experiences throughout their time in the room.

In addition to the Exploratorium, Creative World Centennial offers standard classrooms, a gymnasium and state-of-the-art playgrounds.

Sachdeva said the facility's already seen a great response from the Frisco community -- one that he hopes will continue for a long time to come.

"We hope to live up to what we've been doing -- providing a high-quality preschool for children of Frisco," he said. "That's the most rewarding part of the whole equation. The demographics of Frisco, which has a large youth population, are very compelling for us. We think we're providing a great service for Frisco children and their parents."

Creative World Centennial is located at 4915 Coit Road and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays. For more information about Creative World Centennial, visit its website at www.creativeworldschool.com/preschool-frisco-centennial/.
