Volleyball: Lady Jags on a roll
BY JUSTIN THOMAS, Staff writer
As the start of the District 6-5A season grows nearer, Flower Mound volleyball coach Marci Brinkman continues to see the confidence of her team grow.
Tuesday, the Lady Jaguars picked up their fourth consecutive win topping Plano, 25-19, 25-20, 25-20.
“I thought we played great,” Brinkman said. “We were very consistent and played with a lot of confidence. And we were very scrappy. When we fell behind we were able to quickly fight back and regain the lead.”
Other contributors included Rachael Cunningham with four kills and Briana Allmon and Julie Feczko, who had three kills each.
Flower Mound’s front line received solid passes from Erin Gonzales and Molly Foreman, who Brinkman said made good decisions all night.
Flower Mound continues at 7 p.m. Friday against Mesquite.
“I’ve been seeing improvement every match,” Brinkman said. “Our offense ran smoothly tonight and I am starting to see a maturity I haven’t seen before. Hopefully we are starting to peak around the right time.”
